Part-time Receptionist

Manhattan Movement & Arts Center / Studio Maestro are looking for part-time receptionists to staff our two business locations on the Upper West Side.

The ideal candidate must be a team player, reliable and motivated. This individual should have a positive outlook, professional demeanor, polished appearance, an eye for detail, a strong work ethic and multi-tasking skills. All persons applying must have at least one year of office experience.

Applicants must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Answering phones

  • Taking and distributing messages/ mail

  • Greeting clients & provide hospitality

  • Daily transactions

  • Take attendance for open classes

  • Tender payments

  • Maintain schedules

Skills Required

  • Must be comfortable working in an Apple OS- based environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, mainly Word and Excel

  • Mind Body a plus but will train the right candidate

Compensation will be commensurate with experience

Cafe Attendant

Looking for a customer focused, responsible person to join our team. Must be able to juggle responsibilities and follow direction while offering friendly service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greet and assist customers

  • Work with a register, perform opening and closing procedures

  • Make specialty cafe drinks

  • Bus tables / clean the entire cafe'

  • Restock supplies

  • Prepare smoothies

  • Some food prep work for smoothies and heated meals

  • Answer phone

  • Run errands

Work estimate of 20 hours a week, including weekends. WE DO NOT PAY CASH.

Maintenance Staff

Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, a premier center for the arts, is seeking a part time janitorial/maintenance person.  The hours (ten to twenty per week) will primarily be nights (approximately 6pm-1am).  The bulk of the work will be janitorial but the position also calls for general facility support including interactions with clients, who are usually dance and theater artists. As the front line and most visible face of the facility the ability to be calm, courteous and professional is a must.  Experience in other performing arts studios is preferred because of the special and intricate nature of cleaning dance floors on a nightly basis.
    
Tasks include but are not limited to:
•    Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
•    Gather and empty trash
•    Service, clean, and supply restrooms
•    Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
•    Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
•    Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
•    Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
•    Steam-clean or shampoo carpets
•    Buff floors
•    Move tables, chairs, and theatrical scenery, either manually or by using hand trucks
•    Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. GOOD COMMUNICATION IS ESSENTIAL.
•    Remove snow from sidewalks, stairs and entryway using shovels and spread snow-melting chemicals.
•    Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
•    Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, ladders, tables, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as performances, banquets and meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•    High School diploma or GED
