Q Pittman
Funk  Beginner and Advanced
When not busy explaining that his name is not spelled  "C-U-E" or "K-E-W," Q Pittman can be found teaching his   unique style of choreography throughout the tri-state area. He kicked off his   career in New York by immersing himself in classes at Broadway Dance Center   studying hip-hop, funk, ballet and jazz. His dancer/choreographer credits   include: Kelis, The Chris Rock Show, As The World Turns, The   CBS Early Show, MuchMusic Canada, as well as numerous projects for   VH1 and MTV.
Q is a graduate of Baltimore School for the Arts.
Expect the unexpected. Participants in Q's funk class will find themselves attacking movement with a solid street/hip-hop foundation infused with elements of jazz, Latin, African and always a strong sense of theatrics. Q often creates a back story, or paints a mental picture, to encourage his students to convincingly sell both a character and the choreography. With the varied sounds of R&B, international pop, alternative rock, reggae and more serving as the musical backdrop, Q's funk class emphasizes not the skill of imitation, but the art of performing. Knee pads are optional, but personality is mandatory!
